After swimming competitively for years, Shawna knew that fitness would be a part of her life in one form or another. Teaching group fitness classes started out as a hobby during her first maternity leave as an elementary school teacher. The seed was planted. Now Shawna is teaching and learning more and more each day adding a realm of knowledge to her repertoire through Stretch and Flexibility to Rehabilative courses. As a recreational runner, downhill skier and swimmer, health and fitness have always been a part of Cathy’s lifestyle. Cathy has experienced first hand how pilates improves core strength, performance and overall health and she is excited to introduce others to these benefits through her classes and private sessions. Cathy has seen great success with clients, doing sport specific core strength training and fitness in order to enhance fitness as individuals and as a team. Pilates for rehabilitation is also a large part of her practice, helping athletes recover from injury, or assisting clients rehab after surgery. She has completed and is certified in the Full STOTT® Pilates repertoire of exercise and is continuing to further her education by taking Continuing Education Programs, and is enrolled in Okanagan College’s Human Kinetics University transfer program. In addition to pilates and human kinetics, Cathy is a Certified Flexibility Therapist™, working one-on-one and with groups to improve flexibility and decrease back pain. It is exciting to see the immediate flexibility gains and increased range of motion improving movement ranging from day to day activities to elite athletic performance. |
Tracey McQuair...

Tracey graduated with her degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta in 2002. Since then, she has been inspired to do further training in order to improve the outcomes of her varied patient population. Tracey is a Certified Active Release Techniques Therapist and has found great success in treating both the high end athlete and the busy desk jockey. As a local Ironman Triathlete, she has also been very interested in and has become certified in Bike Fitting, Biomechanical Analysis’ and the Prevention & Treatment of Running Injuries (just to name a few!). Currently she is working on her acupuncture certification, to be completed early 2009. Coming from a Kinesiology & Physiotherapy background, Tracey as found personal success in using Pilates as part of her training regime and has witnessed excellent results in those recovering from and acting in the prevention of injury. Intrigued to delve further into this great approach to rehabilitation, Tracey is working towards gaining her STOTT® Pilates Rehabilitation Certification. |
